How to read the docs
Pick one path by role—you do not need to read top to bottom.
Programmer path (recommended)
- Mental model — build the four-step picture
- Quick start — get generation and loading working in about 30 minutes
- Glossary + luban.conf — share the same vocabulary
- Go deeper as needed:
- How to fill tables → Excel basics
- How to define structure → Excel Schema
- Commands and targets → Common CLI
- Validation / multi-target / localization → Quality and release
- Extending Luban → Extend Luban
- Look up parameters → Reference
Designer path
- Minimum concepts you need
- Header meanings
- Client/server groups
- How to fill complex structures
- Collaboration checklist
When you hit programmer-facing terms, open the Glossary—you do not need to read the pipeline chapters first.
Page writing conventions
Each main article aims for the same structure:
- One-sentence conclusion
- Minimal example
- Rules (itemized)
- Common pitfalls
- Related links
Reference chapters are for lookup, not storytelling; concepts and getting-started chapters explain the “why.”
Version notes
- The site’s default docs are Luban 4.x (current).
- 1.x / 3.x (classic) in the top version dropdown are historical docs; they were not rewritten in this pass, and are only for older projects.
